Photographing the River Tyne
Welcome to Tyne Light!
It’s an ongoing project photographing the Tyne and the places along it, from Hexham and Corbridge, through Newcastle and Gateshead, and down to Tynemouth and the coast.
I shoot at the start and end of the day, in the blue hour and golden hour around sunrise and sunset, when the light is low and the lights along the river start to show against the sky.
I’m working through a list of locations one at a time, shooting stills and timelapses at each. Some come together first time. Others need a few goes before the weather plays along.
I’ll post the finished shots here as they’re done, along with some of the timelapses and the odd look at how they were made.
If there’s somewhere along the river you think deserves a go, get in touch through the contact page or the Tyne Light Facebook page.
