Privacy Policy

Who I am

This website, https://www.nickbailey.photography, is run by Nick Bailey, who is the data controller. You can contact me at studio@nickbailey.photography. This policy explains what personal data I collect, why, how long I keep it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What I collect

  • Contact form: your name, email address and message, so I can reply to you.
  • Newsletter: your name and email address, so I can send you updates on my work. I only do this if you sign up.
  • Technical data: your IP address and browser details are logged by the web host automatically, for security and to keep the site running.
  • Analytics data (only if you accept statistics cookies): which pages you visit, roughly where you are, and your device and browser type, collected by Google Analytics so I can see how the site is used.
  • Spam protection: the contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a visitor is human. This processes your IP address and some browser details.
  • Fonts: the site’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your IP address is sent to Google when a page loads.

I don’t take payments or create accounts through this site.

Newsletter

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing me. I won’t sell or share your details with anyone else.

Cookies

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept optional cookies. Cookies needed for the site to work are always on. Statistics cookies (Google Analytics) and embedded YouTube videos only load if you accept them, and nothing optional is set if you choose Deny. You can change your mind at any time from my Cookie Policy, which also lists every cookie the site uses.

Who I share data with

  • My web hosting and email providers, who process data so the site and contact form work.
  • Google, which provides Google Analytics (only if you accept statistics cookies), YouTube (only if you accept and play a video) and Google Fonts. Google’s own privacy policy applies.
  • Cloudflare, which provides the Turnstile spam check on the contact form.
  • Facebook: the site links to my Tyne Light Facebook page. Nothing is shared with Facebook unless you click through, and then Facebook’s own privacy policy applies.

Google and Cloudflare may process data outside the UK, using the safeguards the UK GDPR requires.

I don’t sell your data or use it for third-party marketing.

How long I keep it

  • Contact messages are kept as emails while I deal with your enquiry, and are deleted after 12 months.
  • Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.
  • Analytics data linked to cookies or identifiers is kept for up to 14 months.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how I use it, receive it in a portable format, or withdraw your consent at any time. Email studio@nickbailey.photography and I’ll reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

This site isn’t aimed at children and I don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

I may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest version.
